Grease Auditions

Auditions May 2nd & 3rd at Aloha Theatre 6:30pm

Aloha Performing Arts Company is putting out the call for interested actors, singers and dancers to audition for “Grease”, the long running Broadway musical about Rydell High School's class of 1959. Auditions will be held at the historic Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu on Monday and Tuesday the 2nd and 3rd of May beginning at 6:30 PM. Director David A. Payne will be looking to cast over twenty roles in this rock and roll musical, including:

*Danny, cool and easy-going leader of the T-birds
*Sandy, the new girl in town and Danny’s love interest
*Rizzo, tough and sarcastic leader of the Pink Ladies
*Frenchy, dreamer and future beautician
*Marty, the pretty one; Jan, loud and pushy with the girls
*Kenickie, tough looking and tattooed
*Doody, young guitar playing hero-worshipper
*Roger, the clown; and Sonny, wheeler-dealer and braggart
*Patty, the cheerleader
*Cha-Cha, the best dancer at St Bernadette’s
*Eugene, the nerdy class valedictorian
*Vince Fontaine, typical “teen audience” radio disc jockey
*Johnny Casino, rock and roll greaser student
*Teen Angel, Fabian type falsetto voiced rocker
*Miss Lynch, an old maid English teacher.

Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script, sing a song from the show with accompaniment, and learn and dance some basic choreography from Seatree Osage, the production’s choreographer. The show will run from 24 June through 16 July. For more information, call 322-9924.
