A musical retelling of the famous Pinocchio story, from the point of view of Geppetto, his creator. When the Blue Fairy grants Geppetto's fondest wish and brings Pinocchio to life, things seem perfect. But soon Geppetto is filled with doubts about being a father. It's only after Pinocchio is taken away to Pleasure Island that Geppetto realizes how important his son is.

The "delightful, delicious, de-lovely" music of Cole Porter will soon be wafting through the rafters of the Aloha Theatre. Aloha Performing Arts Company will be holding auditions for approximately 30 volunteer singer/actor/dancers for its upcoming production of the musical comedy "Anything Goes" on Monday and Tuesday, December 28 and 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the theatre. Performance dates for this Broadway classic are February 19 through March 13, 2010.

ALOHA TEEN THEATRE HOLDS AUDITIONS FOR CHRISTMAS COMEDY
"You'll shoot your eye out!" is an iconic phrase that will soon be echoing throughout the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. Aloha Teen Theatre, a program of Aloha Performing Arts Company, will hold open auditions for volunteer performers of various ages for a production of the comedy "A Christmas Story" on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 27 and 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Aloha Theatre. No experience is required, and newcomers are encouraged to audition. The play, by Philip Grecian, is based on the 1983 motion picture "A Christmas Story" written by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark, and "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash," by Jean Shepherd. Auditions will consist of readings from the script, which is available for onsite perusal Monday through Thursday by arrangement with Sam Valenti at 322-9924. Tiffany Kutsunai is directing, and producers are Jerry Tracy and David A. Payne.
