Join us for a special evening with Harry Durgin and John Stallman as they tell the science and story of the 2018 Puna eruption.  Harry’s moving photographs and John’s knowledge and experience combine beautifully for a presentation that will provide new insight into the eruption and its consequences.

Harry Durgin is an inspirational photographer with a unique and very personal style. His emphasis is on communicating the emotions of a moment in time. As a long time resident of Puna, Harry has good friends that invited him to their homes adjacent to the lava, and up in their small planes. These opportunities and others afforded him once in a lifetime photographs. Harry will present awe inspiring photographs and share stories that are truly up close and first hand.

John Stallman is a wonderful speaker who engages audiences from young to old. Previously a ranger at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, he now works as a natural history interpreter with the Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. John is well known for his incredibly popular livecasts with Philip Ong on the science behind the Puna eruption. A long term resident of Puna, John has a close connection to the land, ecology and culture of the area.
