Archival Research. Historic Interpretation. Creative collaboration.
Youth ages 11-18 are invited to join Kona Historical Society and Aloha Theatre for a 6 day workshop. Spend Three days on a Living History Farm in Kealakekua and Three days at a Historic Theater in Kainaliu! Participants will work with archival images to learn (and teach others) about our community, and a key sustaining crop. Kona Coffee!!! We will create an original tour for ‘ohana of the KHS Living History Farm in Kealakekua. We will explore The Actor’s Vow and the Codes of the Coffeeland: Family, Community, Self-Sufficiency, Tradition and Perseverance while studying the basics of theater and our rich cultural roots. |
